Underworld Petit Verdot

This is a surprisingly decent PV for the vintage. Still lots of dark berries on this one. Smooths our after open for some time but still pretty good. — 5 years ago

Kindred Columbia Valley Grenache 2020

Sparkman Kindred Columbia Valley Grenache, 14.5% alc/vol. Ruby red, excellent clarity, light to moderate pigment extraction. Red fruit -strawberry, hint of raspberry- on nose, black currant, dark cherry, blackberry, barrel toast, caramel and licorice in the mouth, with a hint of mint on the finish. Mouthcoating seed tannins, light to moderate skin astringency. Good candy-like fruit with length but not all that acidic, so a good balance there. A nice find and a good sipper though I’m not sure how solid a standard it is for this varietal in Washington state as it’s quite a different expression of the varietal. Don’t care though; I still like it. Two hours after opening, some cola flavor emerges. — a year ago

Yonder Red Mountain Cabernet Franc

Plum, cherry, and hints of prune and dusty saddle. A very rich and brooding wine. Yum! — 5 years ago

Ring of Fire Petite Sirah

Decent. Too cold when we opened but it really opened as it warmed up. One of Sparkman’s better wines in my opinion. — 6 years ago

Rainmaker Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

This is still holding up. Not a lot of green pepper on this anymore but still a lot of fruit. Decent wine. — 5 years ago
