An elegant wine. Still lively despite its age ( spoke. By someone older!). Light nose of Dark fruit and a hint of tar. A treat to taste. Long finish - well balanced and still a hint of tannin - but drinking well now ...sadly last bottle. — 4 years ago
N: peppery raspberry sauce with lots of garrigue and a few wild flowers.
P: starts out with ripe, rich fruit notes balanced by savory herbs, with pencil lead and stones on the finish.
Had with kibbeh and mezze spread. The allspice in the kibbeh brought out attractive spice notes in the wine, and vice versa. Similarly spoke the paprika on the hummus.
I really like this cdr, Greg liked it less.

Nice with our cheeses. One, (Four Fowl) sent from our friend @Severn Goodwin. Really excellent.
Happy Holidays! 🎄🎁🎅⛄️❄️🌟
The Gosset was opened by our friend Christina. This has seen air through oak & leans into an oxidative style which, is good but, not my favorite.
Lots of bruised, golden & apple, bruised pear, touch of spoke cider, pineapple, ginger ale, strong, grey bulky minerals, bread dough, yeast, saline, sea fossils, chalky stones, some flint, limestone, white flowers, some yellow lilies & jasmine/spring flowers. The acidity is racy with a well balanced, smartly polished finish that is nicely persist. — 4 years ago
This one really spoke to me. Dark fruit with tartness.... reasonably complex and most enjoyable. Looking for a case to buy in line to be sent home! — 5 years ago
This wine does a little Pinot Noir act, medium ruby in the glass with earthy red fruit on the nose. The Sicilian grapes were grown on the slopes of Mt. Etna, and owner Michele Faro spoke during a Zoom gathering about his love of the volcanic soil. The nose also offers notes of coffee, sage and eucalyptus. The palate definitely shows the volcanic origin along with spice and pepper, plus a firm tannic structure. The sip finishes clean and savory. Very tasty. — 4 years ago
It’s been awhile since I’ve had a Bordeaux that spoke to me this much. Still a baby for sure, and really really tight at first, but the nose is intoxicating. The most prominent aromas are stone fruit, leather and to a slightly lesser extent vanilla, but if you breathe deep there’s lavender, clove and kind of a marinara sauce character in a sweet, warming way. I’d also say you can virtually smell the acidity. The palate has a crushed velvet texture - not to say that it’s smooth, because at this point in its evolution, the acid is strong and the tannins are yet to fully resolve, but it sits on your tongue in a comfortable if staid manner, like you’ve sunk into an old couch at a blue-blooded university club. It leaves you with red currant, sour plum, and firm blackberry on the long, but not too eager finish. I’m definitely left wanting more... — 5 years ago

Opened this one at the same time that I opened the 00 VGW. By itself I would have rated this higher, but the 00 Chard spoke to me more. The RM Sonoma Coast is a very nice Chard, but it doesn’t give me that same WOW. It’s very good but not next level. — 2 years ago
