Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour; not nearly enough but the evidence is palpable. The 2021 “Berri” pours a brilliant garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of Morello cherry, raspberry, cranberry, roses, tar, talcum powder, dried green herbs and dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from then nose. The finish is long. From my humble perspective, Trediberri are truly a producer in their ascendency and the 2021 example simply affirms that. Drink now with patience and through 2061+ — 6 days ago

Immediately sold after having a taste of Nicola Oberto’s gorgeous 2018 Berri, 2019 is even better and the ‘Grand Cru’ Rocche dell'Annunziata is total stunner tonight, perfumed, floral and elegant, wafting from the glass with incense, roses, exotic spices and dark cherries. The palate is impeccably structured, detailed and vibrant with a lasting mineral finish with fine grained tannins. A fabulous young Barolo! — 2 years ago

The 2021 Langhe Nebbiolo is fabulous. Crushed berries, spice, mint, dried rose petal and licorice are beautifully delineated. The purity of the flavors is remarkable. Vineyard sites are Berri (35%), plus non-estate vineyards in Levice, Alta Langa (60% - leased) and Monticello d'Alba, Roero (5% - purchased fruit). The 2021 was vinified and aged entirely in cement, and yet it has plenty of structure. It is a terrific choice for readers on a budget, or even readers not on a budget!
