Deep inky in color with a short reddish/ purplish rim.

Strong nose and full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.

Showing black currants, black plums, blackberries, dried figs, dark chocolates, raisins, peppercorn, licorice, light earth, herbs, light tar, tobacco leaf and light barnyard.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This 22 year old Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley is drinking beautifully now. Rich and fruit forward, very complex and entertaining. A fantastic wine.

Drinking at its peak now, and will continue to do so in the next 5 years.

Wine Spectator 93 points. Wine Advocate 97 points.

The high alcohol is well integrated by now.

Elegant, and a great sipping wine. Paired beautifully with my delicious American Wagyu steak.

A blend of 59% cabernet sauvignon, 22% merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. Unfiltered and unfined.

15.6% alcohol by volume.

A completely different wine than the Dominus. This was full throttle and slams you back in to your seat with its G forces. So ripe, almost over the top; but it decelerates just in time and the finish is so succulent it lingers in your mouth forever. Filled to the tip of the cork with graphite and teeth staining purple fruit. This is the malevolent bastard child of a young Colgin IX Syrah and 2000 Chateau Pavie. Gobsmacker. — 8 years ago

Глубокий янтарный цвет. На старте подсушенная рыбья икра. Яблочное варенье, сухие апельсиновые корки, гранола, каштановый мёд, кора, кожа. В развитии уходит в сушёные грибы, тмин, сухую землю. Полное тело, во вкусе курага, изюм, засохший мёд, кожа, сухие цветы, соль. Нарочито аскетично, с шероховатой фактурой и хорошей концентрацией. Долгий тёплый финиш. Given that I am the only reviewer thus far, I feel the need to provide an update. Enjoying my last bottle now. The nose is of prune, stewed fruits, earth. On the palate, the tannins are now fully integrated, muddled blue and black fruits dominate, with some raisin and prune. A much better showing than my prior review. I feel almost apologetic because this is a very good Gigondas. I wouldn't hold this longer though.

Среднетелое, вкус строгий и довольно напористый, пронзительный и чистый. Натянутая упругая структура с хорошей внутренней глубиной. Точный баланс яркой кислотности, вертикальной солёной минеральности и маслянистой цитрусовой основы. Чуть тёплый финиш с легкой горчинкой.
