Recommended by a staff member at Laurenz when we asked for the best non-Huber Spatburgunder they had. Apparently this was the imposter at a Bugundy tasting they had last year (featuring DRC, Rousseau, etc.) and no one picked it up. Not the most definitive sign of quality, but still gotta taste it.
Very elegant. Limestone site shows! Definitely more extracted than the Furst we had (then again, this is St. Antony's top Pinot), more structure, some darker fruits, but still sporting plenty of drive. Really enjoyed it. 25% new oak, 25% stems. Definitely can see this holding it's ground against some village or even PC burg. — 7 years ago
Furst time having an Italian Pinot. It was delicious, smooth, less oaky and had a nice candy finish. — 9 years ago
Stone, lime with a slight floral orange aroma. Citrusy crisp acidity and very food friendly. — 3 years ago
Love this thing. Interesting. Lots of flavour but fresh. — 8 years ago
2012 vintage. I really love Furst. And this wine doesn't disappoint. Oozes minerality. Peppery, spice and sweet red fruits. Smoke and wet earth notes. On the palate there is high acidity, good concentration of ripe raspberry and red plum, medium plus body and medium alcohol. Medium tannins - some subtle grip. The finish is reasonably long. One criticism is that the fruit is sweet rather than savoury. — 10 years ago
Pop and pour, notes from 2 hrs open. Lovely Furst nose of dried leaves, black pepper, wild strawberry and pomegranate. On the palate: fantastic acidity and such lovely weight and density (elegant and more lightly styled). Black pepper, soft coconut and wild strawberry. Wispy tannin on the finish. Was looking for a Hundsruck, but found this first...last btl of this, which is a little sad, but this is drinking so well right now. — 3 years ago

I was surprised by how enjoyable this Pinot was. Nicely balanced berries and tannins medium bodied. We found it very satisfying. — 2 years ago
