At my 2015 Chardonnay Challenge the Giaconda was a consensus 3rd. Easily the most smoky, sulphidic, struck match of the 6 wines. I loved it. On the palate a powerful wine. Opulent. This wine is becoming difficult to source and sells out in a flash upon release. — 7 months ago

What can I say? Needs about 30 min of air odd at first and than absolutely brillant. Raspberry driven, thyme, touch oregano, lime, quite tannic at first which mellows out in the glass over time. Drink now or keep for 1-2 years more. A benchmark wine. A unicorn, A singleton, no one makes wine like Enderle & Moll. A perfect match with Salmon. Needs food. — 3 years ago

Brief notes. First of 6 had with 500 grams of Mooloolaba King Prawns for Easter Sunday lunch......a great match. The characteristic dried pear notes on nose and palate. Wonderful palate intensity and length with moderate acid. Very enjoyable. — 2 years ago

2018 vintage. One of the oldest Bordeaux estates, owned today by a French insurance group. A big estate with over 90 hectares under vine. Lovely floral nose. Medium-bodied, with bright fruit and remarkable freshness, but the tannins are a bit rough in the finish, and it lacks a bit of length. Good value for 26 euros, but no match for the 2018 Château Olivier (another one of the oldest Bordeaux estates) tasted alongside. — 3 years ago

Those modern leesy, flinty, struck match and smoky notes have come together nicely at 11 years of age together with nectarine. Delicious - sadly my last bottle - wish I had a few more. Yet another great producer of top quality Chardonnay from Margaret River. — 6 months ago

Nose has candied pineapple, very ripe nectarine, straw bale, white/yellow flowers and lemon peel.

Palate has tangerine zest, Mandarin orange slice, under-ripe peach, wet river rocks, slightly waxy texture with a short finish.

Decanted 2H.
A quite youthful bottle, revisit 2026+

On point with the Spätlese style connection per Vinous comments.

Paired to Chicken Adobo (Milk Street recipe) and I'm convinced that coconut milk ingredient dishes are a perfect match to Riesling. — 3 years ago
