+2 hour decant(little cloudy sediment). An amazing dark ruby red color. On the nose: Intense notes of dark cherry and stewed plums, menthol, little smoked meat, nutmeg, and licorice. Taste: velvety, polished mouthcoating wine with blackberry/dark cherry, crushed stone, toasted wood, cloves, and a long brambly-peppery-licorice finish. YUM! — 2 months ago

Still pretty fresh for 10 years. Chunky and chalky. Baked blue fruit, spice is where it’s at. White pepper, black walnut, cinnamon. Coating finish but lacks in complexity like other vintages — 2 years ago
Brilliant straw-yellow. Fresh citrus and orchard fruit aromas, along with hints of toasty lees and honeysuckle. Chewy and focused on the palate, offering juicy pear and Meyer lemon flavors that slowly deepen through the midpalate. Finishes long and floral, with a lingering hint of spiciness. A good wine but I was expecting more. Hopefully the next bottle will be more to my expectation. — 7 months ago
Very light in color with a meaty strawberry licorice nose. Just lovely sweet tannins and plushness on palate but with enough acidity to keep it light on its feet. Surprising medium finish. 🔥for the money. — 4 years ago
Big props to Girl and the Fig for excellent service including decanting this wine prior to our arrival.
A very extracted deep purple with no signs of Browning.
Relatively tame aromas of deep berry, baking spice, faint black pepper, juniper berry, menthol, red flower. Heady but not overtly alcoholic.
The palate is a different story. Explosive, much more tart, and red fruits. Pomegranate, cranberry, red cherries overlie the gamey, meaty, olive tapenade of Syrah. Dense, chewy, but not heavy or particularly hot. For 15.7% light on its feet. The tannins are never intrusive but provide needed structure along with surprising bright acidity. Finish just goes on and on.
An unforgettable wine that I am glad we got to experience. Not exactly my personal style but really complete and enjoyable. This wine also feels like it’s just hitting its stride. — 5 years ago
