Very nice 😊 — 4 years ago
Hell yes. Raspberry nose. Red fruit overlayed with crushed dry rose, savory herbs, spicy black pepper, red licorice, assertive tannins and a delicate acidity. Unconventional but absolutely great Chateauneuf du Pape. Give it a lot of air, and drink it slowly over the course of an evening. With cheese ravioli and Miles Davis’s Kind of Blue. Divine. (Also not a blend, but 100% Grenache) — a year ago
Smooth cab franc, no nose, dry brambleberry taste, medium body, light dry finish — 3 years ago
Easy to drink alone or paired with nearly anything — 2 years ago
An unconventional and wonderful Vermentino — 3 years ago
A nice, unconventional Muscat - skin contact, 10% with stems - going in the orange direction.
Exoticly expressive yet without an explosion. A touch of restraint + some hay, herbs, a hint of mushroom.
On the palate this is firm, with some tannin, juicy, zingy acidity and great character. Rich yet fresh. Good precision
A lively & lovely wine. — 3 years ago
Who drinks P Manseng? This is a BA local, SF medal winner that is unique and awesome. PM grapes are small and make sweeter wines. Next time I make Rice Krispie treats teriyaki jerky, this is the call. Great too with funky French cheeses. Very nice wine. — 4 years ago

Confidence de Bastor-Lamontagne – White Blend, 2023. Bordeaux AOC – France 🇫🇷
Overview
A modern white Bordeaux from Château Bastor-Lamontagne, crafted with an unconventional yet compelling blend of 51% Sauvignon Gris, 29% Sémillon, and 20% Sauvignon Blanc. This composition brings both aromatic lift and textural depth, delivering a wine that balances freshness, subtle richness, and a distinctly mineral profile rooted in classic Bordeaux terroir.
Aromas & Flavors
Fresh and expressive on the nose with notes of citrus peel, white peach, and hints of mango, followed by soft herbal tones and a touch of wet stone. The palate leans crisp and clean, showing lemon zest, green apple, light tropical fruit, and a gentle brioche nuance from the Sémillon.
Mouthfeel
Dry and refreshing with bright acidity and a lightly stony texture. Medium-bodied, well-balanced, and smooth, finishing clean with a subtle saline and mineral-driven persistence.
Food Pairings
Shellfish, grilled or poached white fish, oysters, goat cheese, vegetable-forward dishes, or light poultry. Also works beautifully as an aperitif.
Verdict
An approachable yet thoughtfully made white Bordeaux that bridges the gap between casual sipping and more serious tasting. Its balance, freshness, and unique grape composition make it versatile and crowd-pleasing without sacrificing character.
Did You Know?
Sauvignon Gris is a rare mutation of Sauvignon Blanc and brings extra weight, aromatics, and texture, adding a distinctive twist to traditional Bordeaux white blends.
🍷 Personal Pick Highlight
This wine really resonates with my white-blend style preferences. Dry, crisp, and subtly mineral, it’s the kind of bottle that easily becomes a go-to companion for casual cuisine or relaxed sipping, effortless yet quietly sophisticated. — 18 hours ago
