1998 Sassicaia. Latm dinner at Ner. I preferred this over the 1999 Valdicava Madonna out of 3L. This wine had great length, lots of fruit, and didn’t feel as lean as the Madonna. — 6 years ago
Mid to pale crimson in colour. Red cherry, burnt toffee, earth and tar. Juicy on the light to medium weight palate. Oak is noticeable but does not overly intrude. Herbal notes. A great match with home made linguine pasta. Even though only a Rosso has a cellaring capacity of another 5 years although pretty attractive right now. Lovely wine - a superior Rosso. Had another bottle 41 weeks later on 23rd Nov 2022 with consistent notes. Excellent food wine. Drank the 3rd and last on 20th December following the 2007 Valdicava. A very good Rosso. — 3 years ago
Way too young but opened nicely after 2 hours. Needs another 5 years or lots of air — 3 months ago

Great Brunello, more restrained than Valdicava. Great nose, smooth and structured. #ehrlich #winegeek2q2014 — 11 years ago

Particularly earthy and elegant, the 2006 Valdicava Brunello displays a dark primary fruit appearance, but in its nineteenth year, it has clearly evolved from a dense, fruit bomb into a more refined pour with gentle and teasing tertiary aromas and flavors.
It is soft, flavorful, medium bodied, still well structured with light tannins and brisk acidity, and reveals interesting and savory notes of baking spices, dried fruits, nuts and herbal underbrush. The finish is long and satisfying. Aficionados of well aged wines, this is for you!
