2022 vintage. A blend of 90% Savagnin (aka Traminer) and 10% Chardonnay from the " Grandes Vignes" vineyard ( Eric Thill also produces a 100% Chardonnay from this plot). Indigenous yeasts. Aged 10 months in stainless steel. Very low in alcohol (12,5%, whereas the 2018 was 15%!). Nose needs some air, decanting recommended. Clean, fresh, with subtle spices enhancing the fruit. Very good length too. Paired with black Camargue rice, fennel, and duck. This wine works really well with fennel ( not the easiest vegetable to combine with wine). Another great effort from this excellent estate. — 8 months ago
Showing just as beautifully as the bottle I had a few months ago, popped and poured without decant and its aromatics immediately jump from the glass. It’s deep, intense and structured but at the same time it is so elegant and finessed. I remember thinking with the last bottle, and again here, that there is a “wildness” to this Monopole that makes it so intriguing. Really a lovely bottle that’s in a perfect place. Always a treat drinking CLB. — 3 years ago
Love it. So unusual. A little hint of curry leaves. Have to find this at home. — 2 years ago
A great #grenache based blend. A little thin on the mid palate. — 3 years ago
A lovely pairing with salmon, this wine falls heavily on the lemony and earthy notes. Sharp, lasts. — 4 years ago
Can’t go wrong with a classic aged Red Burg with roasted duck. Great nose forest floor autumn leaves earthy balanced lovely profile and very long finish. Yum. — 6 months ago
Vintage 2013 | incredible how Muscadet gains in complexity and finesse after aging. This bottle is made of 60 years old vines and was ‘sur lie’ for 36 months on 50 procent acacia and 50 procent oak barrels. Such a surprise. Tasted in 2018, now 4 years later: creamy minerality in a velvet taste. Paired with beetroot salad as first dish and codd fillet with cauliflower. It makes my evening. Gonna buy more. — 2 years ago
