Super exciting wine. Insane spice on the nose. Like the whole spectrum. Gorgeous dark cherry fruit and endless depth. 9.7 nose. The florals are just insane. Best nose ever from Roncati. Palate is so deep you get lost in it but it’s so elegant and pure. Unreal density and concentration. Just so sapid and juicy. The fruit tends to be darker cherries but it’s still super bright. Big tannins but ripe and so velvety. Just awesome. This will age 50 years. Easy. It needs air but 9.5 out of the gates. Transcendent Ghemme. The nose you can get lost in after a bit of air. Almost a bee pollen effect. The finesse is remarkable. The nose after an hour is just so pretty. Deep cherry fruit, haunting dried florals and a gorgeous layering of spice. Chestnut. Truly just one of the best noses of the year. Palate is so lush and velvety. Big tannins! But ripe and velvety. Unreal density and concentration of fruit. Then finesses out on the finish and fans out dark cherry fruit and spice. Just ridiculous palate impact here. — 3 months ago
Great Barbera! Paired very well with the pastas we ate. Not sure how well it would stand on its own but great with a meal! — 7 years ago

Nebbiolo/Uva Rara/Barbera.
Dark color and nice nose of dried cherry, ripe plum, spices and herbs. Dried roses as well. Very aromatic. Palate is deep, juicy and so sleek and refined. Terrific finish and really pumps the fruit on the finish. Nose starts to deliver wild mint, mashed mid season to late season cherries after some minor aeration. Tannins are slate like, but ripe and gorgeous. Really rich but also fresh and energetic. A terrific value and that finish and explosive mid palate is the story. This is a glugger but also has the guts to age. — 3 months ago
Okay this is awesome. Old school. Cigar, Cuban tobacco, chestnut, tar, dead roses, so so so Nebbiolo. The high toned aromas are just stunning. Really wafts. It’s old school but super clean. Pop and pour and the aromas just kill! Wow. Wow. Palate is just gorgeous. Astonishing purity and freshness and oodles of mid season ripe cherries and wonderful opulence. Superb juiciness. Like 10/10 juiciness. Lovely velvety tannins and such a long juicy finish. So so pure. This is a freakshow. — 6 years ago

Haven’t had this wine in a while, and my god, what a return. Nose is sick. Comforting aromas of chestnut, spice, tar, leather, roses and more. So deep, accurate, and detailed, with loads of sweet spices. 9.6 nose. Gorgeous. The palate comes in with huge concentration and sap, big tannins that will smooth out with air. Dark cherry fruit and a whole inner world of florals and spices. The finish just imprints itself on your palate, juicy, suave, but in need of air. It’s all there.
With air, the nose picks up caramel, tree bark, and forest floor. Really elegant and pure. The tannins still need age and oxygen to calm down, but after much air, it’s lovely. Nose turns harmonious and full, tree bark, oolong tea, tar, roses, dark macerated cherries. Velvety palate, luscious fruit. So fresh and nimble. — 3 months ago
