Drank after the 2005 No. 2. Some similarities but the No 1 shows beautiful tannins from the Cabernet. — 3 months ago
Bright fruit & good acidity. Light but quite nice with pork tenderloin for the price ($17). — 8 months ago

Signature Bailey wine, volatility evident with lovely spice and lifter nose from Viognier. Also some tart cherry evident which was unexpected. — 3 months ago
Incredible Shiraz, beautiful Australian memories — 8 months ago
2014 vintage. 3 hour decant.
3/6.5/9.5 = 19 out of 100 say 96.
High quality Barossa Shiraz with an awesome bouquet apparent as soon as it’s released from the bottle (though I always think blending Viognier is cheating in that regard). Still a strong tannin/acid structure so still not at its peak - say 5 years more at least. High alcohol content but integrated perfectly - didn’t even notice. Really pleasant long linger. Standish is an artist so you must collect and try. My next move is to try back to back with a Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 2 — a year ago
Delectable: Dry Red No. 3 is not a Shiraz blend. It is a blend of the Portuguese varieties of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cao, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Alvarelhao and Sousao. Aromas of red berries, dried herbs (sage) and a potpourri of spices. A savoury red fruited palate. Stellar winemaking from talented winemaker, Sarah Crowe, a former Halliday winemaker of the Year. Sarah shows confidence in blending these Portuguese red varieties to make this delicious red. Originally planted in 1990 in a hot dry corner of the vineyard by Dr Bailey Carrodus in order to make Port. A lovely and unique red wine from Sarah who I had the pleasure of sitting opposite at a Yarra Yering dinner in Brisbane earlier this year. — 3 months ago

Delectable - this is a new cuvée for Yarra Yering known as Amphora. Fermented in a 500 litre clayware Amphora. The final Shiraz Cabernet blend was 60/40. Sarah found the Cabernet component from the Amphora was less leafy. The whole amphora exercise was mainly an experiment. Not sure if she will continue with this in future years. — a year ago
Bob McDonald
Dark Ruby with a tinge of youthful purple. Red berries, cranberries, liquorice and spice. Ultra savoury on the medium bodied palate. Mainly the Portuguese Port varieties originally planted by Bailey Carrodus in order to produce Port. Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cao,Trincadeira, Souzao - also Tempranillo and Alvarelhao. Yarra Yering have produced a delicious and different dry red and a brilliant food wine. 95 points from Halliday Wine Companion. — 7 days ago
