Lover of: all things light, minerally, & red; in search of the perfect Chenin blanc, cru Beaujolais, mountain Nebbiolo, & varietals unknown.
Súper Tuscan with cab franc, drank with rich restaurant Italian meal. Polished tannins, opulent but balanced, glazed red cherries, light balsamic. The 8 years post release has tamed the beast enough. I swear the bottle weighed 5lbs. — a month ago
For under 13$ you get an alpine blend with excellent clarity & volume- guessing that’s how the Chardonnay helps. — a month ago
Drinking really nicely right now which makes me curious how long in bottle this may last. Open knit & beautiful dark cherry fruit with pine, rather smooth grained tannins but enough oomph so it’s not too much polish. Very pretty. — 2 months ago
Surprisingly satisfying with dry lemon curd notes, dried apples with the Chardonnay clearly leading the charge. For the price point a QPR just don’t expect more than two notes. — 2 days ago
80% Bical, 20% Arinto. I might like their red better ( My beloved Baga) but this still stands out for its showing as a mid weight beauty, lemon curd & almond paste notes, with a strong mineral streak & some interesting fennel & herb notes at the edges. Hopefully not cursing it by saying it’s Burgundy adjacent — a month ago
80/20 of Pinot Nero & Chardonnay, Methode ancestrale w disgorgement 3/24. Alot of wine-strong yellow fruit, hazelnut notes, for about 25$. Paired w a cheese platter w true Serrano ham, & which included Garda, an alpine cheese from Lombardy & a heavenly match was born. — a month ago
Alpine wines in general & whites in particular just vibrate at a different level for me. Where Pinot blanc is more plain Jane elsewhere here it’s distinctive: mildly waxy yellow fruits, lemon curd, decent acidity. Great color too, like shimmery cadmium light yellow. — 21 days ago
Uruguayan natural red blend of Merlot, Marselan & Tannat. Let the Brett blow off. Dark cherry & mildly bitter chocolate, some pomegranate, plenty of sediment, & delightful. Amphora aged for six months after carbonic maceration. — a month ago
Previous notes apply, with a doubling down on the joyous fruit factor. — 2 months ago

I never liked this varietal- like limp Gerwirtz at its worst. But this is good- floral and salty with the requisite roundness & distinct. I liked it better colder. — 37 minutes ago
