From the Meritage Wine Market in Encinitas 110$. Interesting that the rating for this white burgh is all over the place. However this is very nice! Pears, hazelnut and ripe apples. Honey. A nice white burgh perhaps a touch too rich and big at 14%. Drink now. — 6 days ago
Very cherry 🍒 lots of it! Morello, dark black and so on….juicy. For me this cherry fest is over the top. But hey good producer and this baby fat might fade away….but i am not sure what else is there. Good for Pasta & Pizza. A little pricey at 34$ i would go for a Chianti instead. — 16 days ago
A wine that typically vanishes into the vaults of the Michelins. And to my surprise this has never been reviewed here. Mark Haisma is an Australian living close to Beaune (met him - he gave me a kiss). This guy makes world class Pinots and 10 years ago they were a good deal but those times are long over! 129$ retail. Very well executed and tuned to really show the finesses of this village (as it should be - the terroir is known for elegance). The 2021 is textbook. Pomegranate, raspberry, some cherry but not overpowering. Faint hint of oregano did he include some stems? This was risky! Tannins fully integrated and ultra refined. Worth it “oh yes”! Try it and for the rest of your life you have a reference point and your wallet will be thinner. Lucky for me the importer Jason is one of my wine buddies which helps but not much. — 20 days ago
Somewhat less interesting compared to when i tried this wine about 2 years ago. Cherry 🍒 mostly, hint anise. Very well made. Needs air about 10 min. — 5 days ago

13.5%. Wonderful Syrah, violets, dark berries (blackberry), touch dark cherry, hint band-aid, quite spicy!, tannins fully resolved and super soft. Drink now - this is ready. At its peak from here it will go down hill. — 12 days ago
Seems a little rough. Not comparable to Mark Haisma - just not in the same league but also 45$ less expensive. Black tea leaves, dark cherries, touch blueberries, hint bitter. Good juice over all. — 18 days ago
Well if you live in San Diego. The only ‚real’ place to get your Burgh fix in San Diego is at the Meritage Wine Market in Encinitas. They know because they will try these. This bottle was not priced yet they asked me to sample it. Super elegant and perfectly balanced. Young, very coiled. The power is there but hiding. Yuzu, pear, hint herabceous, jasmine, chalk. Will be >100$ for sure. This producer just knocks it out of the park for both the whites and reds. — 6 days ago
@ San Diego Wine Co. Every 200 wines or so you come across something which is insane. And this is one of those. A cheapo 15$ Estate Riesling which just blows out the competition at 35$ plus. Even some tannins, apple, quince, dry, 1 liter bottle, acid just right, sour mandarine, bitter almond. Hint tarragon. Whatever happened here it was a mistake because this punches way above its price point!!!! Drink now it is that good. My guess is for the 2023 vintage only. — 11 days ago
Very citrus driven. Eureka lemon. Jasmine nose - some in the glass. Pretty. Hint burned hazelnuts. Classic. Lots of acid. However there is not really anything in this wine which leads me to - oha have not had this before!!Good but not a must have and at 85$ is too expensive. Perhaps over time this will gain complexity. — 18 days ago
