From T. J. Light and quite elegant. Reminds me of a Pinot.
Forget the description on the back it stinks.
Cherry mostly and delicate spice. Quite tannic! 13.5%. This does not come across as Riserva material but for 13$? Juicy. A steal from T.J. Despite the heavy load of tannins a drink now wine give it 30 min of air! — 10 days ago
I rated this just a week ago or so. Upon opening this second bottle was the same as the first one. Limited character and fruit. After a week of air the wine mellowed out, turned soft and oxidized. Plum characteristics, lime, crushed marble. Plenty of tannins left. Yet still an overall lacking Grand Cru wow effect and after 12 years secondary flavors need to impress. It is simply not a great wine for what it is. — 11 days ago
Yes a Gran Cru. It is charming but over all for what it is just OK. The wine lacks depth and to a certain extent fruit. So it pains me to say that i will open and drink up the remaining bottles. c'est la vie especially when your passion is burgundies. — 17 days ago
Needs a good day to open up. At first quite brutal in an unyielding way. I left this on my custom Argon line for a week. Reviewed this many times before. Absolutely delicious and driven by earth herbs and hint of red fruits. More or less for aficionados only (I don’t want to be condescending here) as so much patience is required. Drink now because i do not expect the fruit to hang on all that long. — 2 days ago
Ok but not anything to ride home about especially at the price of 83$ way back then. Band-Aid, dark fruit some lime. Should I get rid of the other bottles in my cellar? Need the space. Day one 8.9. Or may be this needs 10 more years? I don’t know. Under Argon for 5 days this gets better. And smooth (although i hate this term). So day 5 under Aragon 9.1. So on average a 9. — 11 days ago
Not that great. No formal notes but for 85$. A disaster. — 17 days ago
At Coci Northpark San Diego. The wine. Food excellent. Very very difficult to evaluate. I think they used too much oak on this. Ridiculous big and tannic even after 12 years. And after 90 minutes. I tough it is corked at first and even at 60min. Tobacco, cigar box. Touch cherry hint of prune plum. And better with a t-bone than with the light Italian food.I think they really overdid it to please - May be Robert Parker - at the time? Give it at least 2 hours to breathe before serving!!!! — 4 days ago
My palate is different this time. Here the 2nd take on this 2020 which i tasted in 2024. Absolutly wonderful with a unique taste profile. Hint hazelnut, ripe apple, Meyer lemon, sour mandarin. Plenty of tannins for a white. And surprisingly a hint of honey. Rich and broad. A real treat. This is awesome now and will continue to evolve for another 5 years or so. A benchmark! What a wine!😀. Good enough for ~ 55$. His other offers are now >100$. This guy is a genius and he makes only chardonnay!!! I really like that focus on doing we’re you are the best. Beats Burghs. — 11 days ago
Quite fruit driven and not my style. 14.3%. That says it all. — 17 days ago
Pinotman /// Andreas
My go to inexpensive yet great Chard. 13.2% 900 cases produced. Less overt Citrus driven than in the past. 🍋 mostly. Grassy. Perhaps less convincing than previous vintages. Would love to see a little more complexity - but still good for the $. — 17 hours ago
