This wine is in one word, intoxicating. Fantastic nose of brambles, fresh blackberry, red currant, lavender, grilled beef, wood smoke, freshly cracked black pepper. Palate with tight tannins, med + acidity, fresh and tart blackberry, blueberry, sauvage. Spectacular value at 22 usd. Needs 5 years, but this is why I drink wine. @Lyle Fass — 17 days ago
Wow. Such a nice wine coming from humble origins. Needs some air to express itself. On the nose yellow lilies, apple blossom, almost a hint of jasmine, just ripe yellow apple, just ripe pear, a touch of fresh vanilla. On the palate, this really shines. Ripe orchard fruits, rich without being cloying. Blind I would place this as a village Meursault. Yellow apple, pear, touch almond, buttery and rich texture with minimal oak, crème brûlée; I’m assuming from skillful lees management . Good acidity, decent length. 13 abv. 24 usd at the grocery store. I haven’t seen ratings anywhere near where I’ve placed this, but maybe this is a product of a good vintage? Either way, huge fan — a month ago
Fantastic, intense nose of dark fruit, granite, iron, meat with an insane floral lift of dried apricot which I’m assuming is the viognier. Palate with good acid, typical northern Rhone Syrah profile of meat, lavender, granitic bite. A lot going on; tannins are not that evident after a 1.5 hr decant. A wine with a ton of character. @Lyle Fass @Delectable Wine this is cote-rotie “gerine” — 12 days ago

@Delectable Wine this is the Kreuznacher Kahlenberg auslese trocken. Seemingly a novelty as from what I’ve read this is the only year they have produced a dry auslese. The nose is tertiary with dried orchard fruits, dried pineapple, hint of petrol, dried oregano and mint. The palate has a honeyed component of dried apricot and dried pineapple. High acid. The finish falls off quickly which might be indicative that it is over the hill slightly. Lacks a bit of concentration and with some residual sugar would likely be improved. Still, an enjoyable wine. — a month ago

Wow. On the nose, high intensity of aromas. Raspberry, cherry, black tea. Lots of florals. Dried roses, dried violets, peonies. Then the earth creeps in. Fall leaves, mushrooms. In the first 30 min there was a licorice component. This disappeared. On the palate, it is similar to the nose. High acidity, great length for humble origins. Really a fantastic bottle, expertly crafted. @Lyle Fass — 9 days ago
