Cristal Brut Champagne Chardonnay Pinot Noir Blend 2006

This is gorgeous. Honeyed at the edges with great minerality, complexity and a long finish. Sweet and delicious. — 4 years ago

Domaine des Lambrays

Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2016

The first of 4 Grand Crus from Morey Saint Denis. Tasted blind - knew the identities but not the order of service. Colour of mid Ruby - paler than the previous bracket from Gevrey Chambertin. A beautiful red fruited delicious palate easily of Grand Cru quality. Medium plus intensity with supple tannins even at this young age. — 4 years ago

Miani

Colli Orientali del Friuli Friulano

As always with Miani, an extraordinary show, well beyond Grand Cru quality. Developing complexity, balanced and a long finish. Dense and broad, with a sharp en linear structure with its trademark electric and salty minerality on the mid palate. The wine provides such a drinking experience today, but with the structure and intensity that’s provided, I can only imagine that this will have a long life ahead...and I will keep wondering if this man have a limit on what’s possible.. — 6 years ago

Château Haut-Bailly

La Parde de Haut Bailly Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Used a Corvin 3X over 6 months, still fresh, great product. Second wine of Chateau Haut-Bailly, a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cab Sauv & 10% Cab Franc, deep Ruby with aromas of black fruits, cassis and flinty notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, red currants and juicy blueberry with cedar notes and baking spice. Firm tannins, medium acidity ending tangy with fruit and mineral finish. Very Nice! — 4 years ago

Miani

Filip Colli Orientali Del Friuli Friulano

Enzo Pontoni made something really solid here - blind you think this is a great Burgundy white. Not many Italian whites can touch the level which Miani delivers !

The nose reveals slightly sour & bruised fruits. Bruised golden apple & pear, overripe pineapple, lemon meringue, green apple, lime zest/candy, melted, salted caramel, honeysuckle, white & yellow peach, brown butter, caramelized brown sugar, hints of mint, sea fossils, grey volcanics, whiff of white spice, vanillin, bread dough, yellow lilies, spring flowers with mixed floral greens.

The palate is rich, lush, round, a touch gluey & full. Nice mousse, micro-oxygenation, slightly sour & bruised fruits Bruised golden apple & pear, overripe pineapple, lemon meringue, green apple, lime zest/candy, melted, salted caramel, honeysuckle/honey comb, white & yellow peach, inside banana peel, brown butter, caramelized brown sugar, nougat, hints of mint, sea fossils, gritty, penetrating chalkiness, grey volcanics, some white spice with nice lighter heat, vanillin, bread dough, yellow lilies, spring flowers with mixed floral greens. Excellent acidy. The long, even, fresh, well balanced finish persists nicely and is delicious.

Nice bottle and well priced at $38 w/ deluxe gift box.

Nice, almost did a vintage Roederer theme tonight, but I don't think '08 or '12 are ready yet and those are the only vintages in stock in our cellar.

Château Haut-Bailly

Jammed full of rich black fruit—blackberry, some plum-like notes, tar, spice, and juicy, generous tannins. Serious richness, serious value — 4 years ago

Super charged and deep with abundant dark fruit, coffee and dark chocolate notes. Wild flavours here, which are untamed at present, so hands off please for another few years. Great, layered and persistent finish. — 6 years ago
