Les Pagodes de Cos Saint-Estéphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Very masculin wine with granite, tar, leather, liquorice notes with amazingly soft silky tannin. It opens in 30 min to this explosion of aforementioned notes with black fruit in the background. Green bell pepper in the background give away the youth. It should develop very well over the years. Great length: good 35 seconds on the palate. Now I need to try the real deal COS from the same vintage. — 4 years ago

I’ll let my previous notes of weeks ago stand.

However, if you like white burgundy & can find some of their 2015-17, you owe it to yourself to order some of Pierre Boisson Bourgogne Blanc at $37.99.

Drinks like a well made Meursault and makes many elite Ca Chardonnays pale in comparison.

It has purity of fruit & minerality...not crushed in new oak and ABV burn.

You can spend $75 to $200 for elite Ca Chardonnay, I’ll take this over those any day.

@David T Am trying to find some of the Bourgogne Blancs on your RWC but pxs have already started to go up a lot in Japan. $50+ and the village level whites are at $130-150 or so. Only the Aligote is about $30😭😭😭

Morgon Gamay 2018

One can never have enough Lapierre Morgon in their life. Perfect for a hot summer night, but works just as well on a cool fall evening. Bright red fruit in general but the vintages can show through nicely as well. The 18s show great fruit and a ready for drinking anytime with some earthy undertones. Les Tailles Cabernet Franc Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Drank over the course of three days; just like Mufasa, this fine drop from Anjou was dignified and imposing until the end. Surprised that any sniff of oxidation - and there was near none - was in reality a welcomed influence. Would happily order a case of this medium bodied blend of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon. A mouthful of ripe strawberries and plums, a little perfume, low acid (but enough so it wasn’t flabby), soft tannins with a slightly jammy concentration at the tail. Confident this would be a pleasure to have any day, at any hour, meal or no meal, friends or no friends, in bed, at a table, or on the floor. A beautiful wine beautifully made. Bravo J. C. For its name this seems a fitting ‘study’ of a richer Napa Pinot. Expressive warm oak spices and a range of inviting red and black fruit, tart to bruised. Has a Christmas fruitcake quality. — 4 years ago

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Meat and potatoes with balanced Napa Cab. Dark, dark red on the eye. The nose is full of blackberry, plum, oak and vanilla. The mouthfeel is powerful yet velvety with dark fruit, vanilla and a soft chocolaty finish. Young but precise Napa Cab, very enjoyable with a certain bravado. Cheers. — 4 years ago
