Vincent Dauvissat

La Forest Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2019

Insane pairing with some fried pipefish. Salinity redefined, intensity elevated. The 19’ La Forest is frankly a little riper than expected, but it’s moments like this that takes the wine beyond its weaknesses and into the realm of perfection. I live for this! — 2 years ago

Goldeneye (Duckhorn Vineyards)

Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2019

Goldeneye Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2019: Medium-bodied. Impeccable balance. Elegant fresh juicy fruit. Notes of strawberry, cherry, earth, herbs, smoke & oak. Long smooth finish. What a remarkable wine. Haven’t had a bottle of Goldeneye in numerous years and boy was this outstanding. It made for a very enjoyable evening & meal. All in all, a delicious Pinot Noir! Goldeneye hits the bullseye! Great day to all! Cheers 🎯🍷 — 2 years ago

Louis Roederer

Vintage Champagne Blend 2014

Wow. Fresh and zesty but with incredible depth. 2-3 minutes on the finish, one of the best champagnes I have had: have not had their regular non vintage brut but this delivers even at the $100 price point. Would absolutely buy this — 2 years ago

Ferrando Vini

Etichetta Bianca (White Label) Carema Nebbiolo 2018

Popped and poured. The 2018 Ferrando Carema pours a beautiful, luminous, transparent ruby color that displays a slightly brown cast around the edge. Medium (+?) viscosity. Cherries bruised forest strawberries, pink roses, tar, crushed granite, Alpine herbs, and a kiss of spices. Medium+ tannin, medium+ acid. Finish is very long and super satisfying. A tremendously elegant wine. So much class. Best after about 45 minutes of air in the glass and continued to build until the last sip which was a few hours later. I really enjoy these wines. Too bad the prices are nearly 2x what they were 5 years ago. — 2 years ago

San Giorgio

Ugolforte Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2016

2016: Darn good Brunello, young but opens to classic Sangiovese flavors after 4-5 hours: tart cherry, leather, tar, menthol, some minerals. Good concentration and mouthfeel. Should be even better over the next few years. $40 sale at GW. — 2 years ago

Machir Bay Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

2022 Whisky Advent Calendar Day 4: Super complex. Honey, floral notes and vanilla nose. Very light color but deceptively dense body. There is a sweetness and spicy creamy note and cigar box running through the peat and smoke. — 2 years ago

So consistent and relaxed. Excellent. See my prior notes.
