Valdespino

Contrabandista Medium Dry Amontillado Blend Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Palomino Fino Pedro Ximénez

Has a lushness & deep, amber glow to a host of tertiary flavors including butterscotch & mushrooms. In contrast to Valdespino s standard Amontillado, which is a fresh young thing. Think this is the middle aged brother, a bit wiser $ snappy. For less than 25$, yowza. — 5 years ago

Grgich Hills Estate

Napa Valley Zinfandel 2014

In the mood for a Zin and this one will do just fine. Pop and pour. Jammy dark fruit and coffee beans. Old style Zin. High alcohol (14.7%) comes off a little hot, but not overwhelming. — 5 years ago

Ferrando Vini

Cariola Erbaluce di Caluso 2016

Vibrant white flower on the nose / green apple, wet stone, medium to med to med+ body, round and a touch homies but with some linearity—nice burst of acidity lifting the palate. Pretty long finish — 5 years ago

So consistent. We are happy we are on the allocation. Honeysuckle and butterscotch play out on the nose. Beautiful display on the palate. Starts with a burst of energy, which effortlessly glides onto bright citrus notes, with sherbet. So clean and refreshing, we could drink this like water! — 5 years ago
