Cape Mentelle

Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc - Sémillon Blend 2018

Sharp lime, mostly melon, smooth finish, nice character for me as far as sb go. I’ll buy again. — 3 years ago

Taittinger

Comtes de Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne Chardonnay 2007

What was that? 2007 was an impossibly difficult year in the Champagne region? Not for Taittinger it appears! This is a beautiful crisp rendition of a classical champagne. So glad I took the chance and stocked up at a low price when it came on the market in 2019 — 3 years ago

The Eyrie Vineyards

Dundee Hills Pinot Gris 2018

A floral forward nose leads to over ripe citrus and under ripe tropical fruit. As it opens up it shows heft and complexity in terms of parmesan rind and white peach fuzz. Just a bit of white mushroom rounds out this exquisitely expressive example of pinot gris from the infamous winery that brought the grape to the states. — 3 years ago

Cibonne

Côtes de Provence Tibouren Rosé 2018

Pale orange in colour. Gorgeous and elegant aromas of mandarin, sea breeze, thyme, lavender, strawberry and crustaceans. Long saline and vibrant finish. Clean, fresh, nervous and full of finesse.. Might be the best Rosé I ever tasted. And it’s supposed to have some cellar potential, as well....!

Ravello Bianco Costa d'Amalfi Falanghina Biancolella 2019

Damn refreshing. Lime juice and a hint of Amalfi lemon, ripe golden apple, honeysuckle, cantaloupe, crushed oyster shells, backed by great acidity. The distinctive cantaloupe note really picks up mid palate and continues for a good while on the finish. Perfect with shrimp/lobster/fennel risotto. — 3 years ago

Château Le Puy

Emilien Côtes de Francs Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Corey got a few of these for me for Christmas. Drinking our first bottle now, planning to save the rest for a bit. Gave it 1.5-2 hours of air. Slight cloudiness. Nose is intense with black licorice, wool yarn and blueberries. Fruitiness on the palette is there but emergent earthiness and a hint of mint. It has tart acidity and a mild bitterness that I don’t dislike and subtle barnyard funkiness. Medium tannin. Enjoyable bright long finish. — 3 years ago
