Trimbach

Cuvée Frédéric Emile Alsace Riesling 2009

Young, fresh, and still primary. Interesting note of mango/kiwi. Paired deftly with a pork tenderloin and jonny cakes. — 5 years ago

I haven’t had this vintage, but I always love this wine!

@Tom Casagrande the 2009 vintage had a reputation for cooked ripe wines, but the cuvée was still extremely balanced if not the typical laser that Trimbach is aiming for. Some tropical notes were amplified that would normally be trace impressions...not a bad thing.

Jean-Philippe Fichet

Le Tesson Meursault Chardonnay 2016

Gorgeous Meursault Tessons from Fichet. Floral, citrusy, great acidity and balance, wonderful now and will develop with 5 to 7 years in bottle, maybe more. A great chardonnay to enjoy or hold. — 5 years ago

Silver Oak

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Really enjoying this bottle. Very feminine and delicate, highly expressive and balanced. Tobacco leaf, licorice, clove, eucalyptus, plums, blackberries, winter spices, and dark chocolate. Integrated tannins with a nice plush acidity. Rating may increase as this was tasted initially as a PnP. — 5 years ago

@Matt Duncan Agreed - after I took a few sips I concluded the 2011 was still on an upward trajectory. Delicious bottle nonetheless! Cheers.

Domaine de Triennes

Vin de Pays du Var Cinsault Blend Rosé 2018

Bright, mild red berry notes on the nose giving way to some earthy melon on the palate. Love the acid balance on this wine. Consistently good each vintage. Perfect weeknight stuff. — 5 years ago

Au Bon Climat

Santa Barbara County Chardonnay 2016

Fantastic Chardonnay from Au Bon Climat. Lemon zest and melon flavors with hints of the same on the nose. This is a stellar Chardonnay for the money, comparable to fine Chablis from France. Perfect for a sunny spring evening! — 5 years ago

Domaine du Collier

Saumur Blanc Chenin Blanc 2012

This was “The Finest” right from the cork popage. Paired with course three, the shrimp and green tomato tomatillo salsa it was the champion. I still have some in my glass. — 5 years ago
