Bodegas Rafael Palacios

Louro Valdeorras Godello 2019

These Spanish whites are great, nose is packed with marsipan, the good oak notes of distinct ”bakelser” (sweets), and honey melon, papaya, and yellow citrus; medium acids and alcohol and yellow fruit that takes the marsipan and other nose flavours into a long satisfying finish. — 3 years ago

Château Cos d'Estournel

Les Pagodes de Cos Saint-Estéphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Beautiful Garnet color. I’m shocked at the veracity of the tannins 12 years in given how warm a year 2009 was. This wine has structure but is brooding… dark fruits and almost a gaminess like Northern Rhone….There is stone, and pencil lead, and dare I say a chocolate note… intriguing as St. Esteph always is for me, the best of Bordeaux! Evolved and became more beautiful with grilled steak and roasted asparagus! — 3 years ago

Domaine Arlaud Père & Fils

Les Petits Monts Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2016

Although the evening was well spaced the timing of this wine somehow felt like the interlude - and what a break it was! Developed so nicely in the glass, but not too forward. Had been considering purchasing some of the villages and this more advanced expression. only underscored the quality of the maker. — 3 years ago

Bone Ash Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Sunday nite with my wife and soulmate. She chose one of her faves to compliment our dinner.. always a strong presentation, not as present as the 16 vintage. It’s extracted, but doesn’t display the poise and grace that we have become accustomed to with this bottling. Given the price, I won’t purchase more than the 3 bottles that I have. — 3 years ago

The rest of the grub was healthy, but we always shit the bed in some way, shape or form 😀

Fattoria dei Barbi (Colombini)

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2012

A sweet and very pleasant core of cherry and strawberry dominates the senses. Wild herbs. Beautiful persistance. This is the best vintage ever of this wine according to my opinion. Superior than the great 2010. — 3 years ago

Domaine Chante Cigale

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2017

Very strong material. Sweet fruited but great acid balance. Does not create the impression of a three dimensional aromatic space but shows a low degree of intervention and a high degree of transparency and integrity. Rare to have a wine that has both authenticity of the land and the individuality of the winemaker. — 3 years ago

Moussé Fils

'Special Club' Les Fortes de Terres Brut 2015

Well they’ve done it again. Who is they? Why Cédric Moussé and the Club Trésors de Champagne of course. Another superstar bottle from them.

A muted pale lemon color with an effusive stream of tiny bubbles. Aromas of honeyed almonds, peaches, and crushed herbs. Fresh cherries and apricots sparkle here. Toasty brioche bread and chalky minerality show after some time with green apples being quite dominant after receiving some air.

The Master of Meunier and here it shows. 100% Pinot Meunier from the village of Cuisles located in the Vallee de la Marne. This Special Club offering is from one plot of land, giving it its name, Les Fortes Terres. Disgorged on 10/21/19 with a dosage of 1 g/l, this is refreshingly stark with beautifully racy acidity.

Full bodied and bold on palate, the complexity and purity of the Meunier shines through. Butterscotch and apples start the party off with more cherries and citrus playing along. A nice long, dry finish. Vibrant and captivating. Moussé and Special Club champagnes never disappoint.
