Stunning wine and shows why I love Aloxe. Insanely underrated. Deep and very complex nose. Huge spice and mineral. Flowers and big cherries with incredible depth. Huge fruit complexity and so pure. Deep fruit and amazing big tannins with such balance, grace and purity. This has an incredible finish that pumps the focused fruit to the back of your palate and just lingers eventually finishing mineral. This is terrific. Huge structure and grip. — 6 years ago
Bright, lively citrus galore. Lots of acidity and nuance... so much more complete and compelling than the delightful 09...balance, nuance, intensity... the wine is alive in the mouth shooting bright stars of lemon head sweet/sour notes all over. The longer it was open, the warmer it got... the more it charmed instead of assaulting the tastebuds. A glorious glass of French charm. — 6 years ago
Deep tawny brown and semi-clear. Rich nose with layers of toffee, almond paste, woody and stewed plums. Solid acidity cutting through the sweetness. Layered flavors on the palate of tropical fruits, cedar, cherries, spices and nutty. Acidity hits through at the backend of the palate and has some nice depth. Long finish. Drinking will right now. — 6 years ago
Beautiful Ruby red with an elegant bouquet of sweet berry fruits, subtle spice with earthy tones, a traditional Rioja. On the palate, the wine was silky smooth with layers of flavors, berry/cherry, tobacco, smoky cedar, dark fruit, vanilla spice, very well balanced with fine tannins and a clean structure ending with a nice lingering finish. Delicious! — 6 years ago
Super young. Took 30 minutes to catch its breath but this was full bodied, luscious yet restrained black fruit with floral notes all around. Finishes with a lot of stiff young oak tannin. The best years of this wine are definitely ahead of it, and I would LOVE to see where this one is in 5 years. — 6 years ago

I’ve tasted some extraordinary prior vintages of Clos Du Mont-Olivet’s La Cuvée du Papet, but with Jeb Dunnuck’s call of perfection on 2016, my expectations were even higher. Jeb says it’s “pure perfection” and “unquestionably the greatest wine I’ve ever tasted from this estate and is a legendary wine in the making.” And yet it still blew the doors off those expectations. This Châteauneuf-du-Pape wildly outperforms in the following categories: Aromatics, purity of fruit, texture and mouthfeel, layers of complexity, intellectual stimulation, length, and, without question, deliciousness. 100%, wholeheartedly agree with @jebdunnuck “beg, borrow or steal to get a hold of this.” Sexy. Exotic. Spectacular. — 6 years ago
