#barberadalba #barbera #piemonte delicious. Today it reminded me of Merlot flavor and aroma characteristics. Lots of tiny ripe red plums and hints of cigar box and tobacco and leather. Great riper vintage for this Barbera — 6 years ago

This Italian barbera has a pale garnet color. On the nose is vanilla, sour cherry & plum. Velvety mouth feel and a smooth finish. #barberadalba #barolo #ruvei #italianwines — 9 years ago

Black fruits, new oak, star anise, vanilla bean. Explosive; medicinal concentration and the kind of finish that only comes from century-old vines. Extraordinary. #almondo #barberadalba — 8 years ago
Deep color. Heavy extraction and tannin. Strangely green parsley or basil. While on that palate it seems riper. Big tannins. #barberadalba #italianwines — 10 years ago

Very much in the vein of the 2015: black cherry, raspberry, blackberry...but a bit fresher and more chiseled. Not a tour-de-force, but more classically Barbera. Satisfying and complete. #almondo #barberadalba — 8 years ago

After sending back an oxidized, tired 2020 Rossi di Montalcino, the Somm had the waiter bring back this wine at around the same price point. Don’t sleep on #barberadalba from a great producer. Raspberry, plum, dusty dark fruit nose. So vibrant on the palate with lush yet tangy dark red fruit on the entry, gossamer tannins on the finish. Corking it after dinner and after the next day in the wine fridge still as alive. — 2 years ago
