Consider this $10 #castillion #cotesdebordeaux: laid-back cassis, blackberry preserves, smoked meat, and faint black pepper nose with vibrant acidity in your mouth, Right Bank earthy character and sturdy tannins that trail off for a good spell. The only fault is it lacks heft being medium bodied. Good QPR for the bargain Bordeaux lover available at Costco. — 5 years ago
Vintage 2005 - I finished this wine from my cellar, but bought more (yes, that's possible!) because it's so damned excellent. #petitbordeaux #cotesdebordeaux #happiness — 8 years ago
Typical, well-crafted #castillon #cotesdebordeaux . Forceful French oak upon opening but let it breath for an hour and you’ll get cassis, bramble fruit, sous bois nose, bright acidity, some cocoa, braising spice, fine textured tannins on the finish. — 3 years ago
Accessible #cotesdebordeaux, earthy but opens up pretty quick, bracing acidity and tannins are a bit rowdy but nice Bordeaux at this sub-$20 price point from #wsjwineclub. — 6 years ago
A #grandcru wine at village price! #castillon #cotesdebordeaux ripe fruit packed with elevated acidity and soft chewy tannins with long finish. 🔥 🔥 — 7 years ago
Blackberry and cassis-scented #cotesdebordeaux #merlot - dominant blend. Fruit-forward nose touched with dried mint and sage transitions nicely to bright acidity mouthfeel, some oaky spice and substantial tannins on the finish. — 4 years ago
One of the many rising stars from the relatively unknown #castillon #cotesdebordeaux region. I think I tried this one pretty young but already lovely earthy cassis backbone, tightly knit tannins that linger in the mouth, once it opens up after decanting. I wonder what could have been after five more years but sometimes today is the day. — 5 years ago
