Jan 9th, 2023Tightly wound. Notes of leather and spice box meld with maraschino cherries and hints of bell peppers. Tannins are prominent, but add weight to what is an excellent showing. Needs more cellar time...

This still needs time. High high acidity. But at about hour 2 it starts to open. A traditional house but this vintage is large.

Jul 1st, 2019The nose is dominated by barrel toast. Lots going on in the glass. Complex interplay of flavors, influenced by pomegranate. Excellent texture and finish. Again, 3 - 5 years of bottle age and this will be singing!

Wine group dinner (SJOS), a ton of wines and great conversations with no time for detailed notes. There were notes of dried figs, candied cherries, hazelnuts, leather, and chocolate. Very nice long finish. Happy I have a few bottles in my cellar

2010. Could go another ten years easily. Cherry licorice. Tobacco. Cram/earth. Still fresh red fruits. Love it.
