Might be a bit past its prime but still quite good. Light ruby color with a brick rim. Aromas and flavors of dark cherry, rose petals, dark chocolate, leather, tobacco and dried herbs. Smooth and dusty tannins. Brimming with acidity. Extremely complex, but maybe just a touch out of balance. Still a pleasure. Thank You John P.

A meaty and mineral aromatic influence on the core of dried cherry and blackberry. This definitely has some interesting tannins with a great amount of coffee and earth coming in. Drinking well now and will improve over the next few years!

Got all my fave Rioja notes but there was something green-stemmy there on the nose and palate that went one step past wet forest floor. Dunno if longer rest will help but I've got 3 more of these so we'll see.
