Cavaliere d'Oro Chianti Classico Sangiovese

An enjoyable bottle-light flavors of strawberry and cherry, without the strong acidity in so many Sangiovese wines.

Deep ruby color; black cherries, plums, and herbs on the nose; high acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like raspberries, cranberries, and slate with a long finish.

For the price, it's tough to beat this easy drinking Chianti. Great with most pasta dishes or just solo.

Simple uncomplicated Chianti. Pairs really well with popcorn and college football.

Went back to this well to verify that it’s the best midlevel Chianti offering if you’re trapped in the 1980s hellscape that is buying wine in Pennsylvania. It’s your best bet.

Chianti #2 of the evening and this is a clear winner. Just has a richness and elegance that I’m pleasantly surprised to find at a sub-$20 price point.

On sale at Meijer. Not sure if it is a Sangiovese or not. Had 2017 in January of 2021. Was a really nice Chianti. Slightly dry but with some fruits and spice. Made homemade pizza tonight and paired really well. I would definitely buy this one again.

Notes of strawberry and leather. Typically thin and acidic for a Sangiovese.

Dark red fruit, plum, dark cherry, tobacco, leather, oak, clove, cinnamon, and white pepper. Medium tannin, medium alcohol, and high acid. Recommend decanting.
