Château de La Chaize
Brouilly Gamay
I must admit here a new handicap, which appears to be my lingering symptoms post COVID including degraded sense of smell & taste. It’s as if all my senses have a fine gauze, filtering out the full spectrum of flavor & aroma. So in the meantime, I realized that my post impression of recent wines is a sameness of taste. So perhaps best not to score at all? Just written notes? Ah, the horns of the dilemma. As much as this Beaujolais cru is decent & properly buoyant with fresh cherries & cut strawberries, medium plus acidity & broad mouthfeel, my sense is I would give it the same score regardless. So this score remains. It also gets kudos for ringing under 17$- a rarity these days.
