Crossbarn
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a delicious one.
Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, cedar, leather, earth, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, peppercorn, mocha and coffee.
Full bodied, bold and smooth, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, vanilla, licorice, spices, tobacco, chocolates, light herbs, mocha, coke and light earth.
Medium finish with fine tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a very tasty Napa Cabernet based Bordeaux blend. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food.
Showing nice complexity and a great mouthfeel. Very typical for a Napa Cabernet with lots of cedar and vanilla flavors.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up. Will get better in the next 5 to 10 years.
I had it all by itself. Great wine from a great vintage. Yummy and delicious.
A blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$55.

Serviceable, but presented with a high phenolic content. On the palette it was angular. Not well behaved. This is a pass and a surprise.

Robust nose with oak up front. Decanting leafs to a firm palate with nice oak and red fruit on the palate. Loooooong finish. Tons of aging potential. Love this wine.

Gentle and unbold. No problems but also no sparks. It was fine.

Dark lush fruit from the start but tempered by notes of coffee, pecan and earth. Long finish with tannins and a very slight acidity at the end

Enjoyed a bottle of 2014 Paul Hobbs Crossbarn Cabernet with friends, steaks, & sweet potato fries. Very enjoyable & well-rounded. Blackberry and currant, long finish. At $50, a bit pricier than my typical bottle. But this is a big wine.
