A touch of butterscotch on the nose then a deep blue gnarly fruit with a bit of tang and black pepper. Savory and delicious on the palate z quite cool blooded which is ironic given the vintage. Sour cherry notes on the end.

Old world Syrah on steroids. 03 showing zero signs of age. Nice oak treatment with notes of cherry compote, maple syrup and pine cones! Fine grained, soft tannins and moderate acidity make this a balanced point of reference.

This bottle was lit. Just at the inflection from extracted to resolved, the complex aromatics foretold an even more delightful rainbow of black tea, bacon fat, dark cassis and tapenade. Buttery smooth. Oaky tannins to take this baby another 10+ years easy.

The wine is complex but lacking a firm structure. Alcohol was not overwhelming. Nose was closed for the first 90 mins. Now giving way to gentle tobacco and dark cherry A touch dry on the front of the palate but rounds out into a juicy and long finish. Very nice.

May 17th, 2024Elegant beauty. WS said the peak was 2018 - Parker said up to to 2035. He’s the man on this one. Elegant and refined. Tannins still waiting resent. Lovely wine with velvety finish
