This was downright unpleasant on the first night. Scorchy and bitter. On night 2, not bad. Mature color. Nose of macerated prunes and cherries. A bit of gravelly earth. Still tannic as fuck in the mouth. Given the advanced earthy and leathery flavors, I'm thinking that this may not last long enough to fully come into balance and drop the tannins enough to make it truly pleasurable.

Birthday Barolo! It doesn't feel like a Barolo. It's much bigger. Not your typical colour either. Perfect amount of tannins.
