2006... great year for the Italians.

Nebbiolo trips me out... there’s many other grapes out there that are the same colour of a rusted out trunk of a Mazda 3.

Smells like a pack of Marlboro’s.

Opened a 2006 in 2020. Worth the wait. Almost creamy.

This was a WTSO buy for me, and it was quite nice with a bit of age on it!

Lots of organics and earthiness on the nose. Leather, tar, minerals and dark cherry on the pallet. Light color and body with mild tannins. Might be a bit past its prime but still quite drinkable and pleasant.

Brick red... Nose is tantalizing, showing tertiary notes of dried leaves and rose pedals, cherry reduction, and balsamic. Palate is light in weight, still fresh, and well balanced with red fruit and acidity, mid palate tobacco notes are there too. Tannins have softened and this is ready to drink now, but will benefit from a 1-2 hour decant as the nose opened up nicely.
