Jordan Vineyard & Winery
Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California, USA
Founded 1972, Tom & Sally Jordan, from CO, went to CA’s wine country & produced inaugural vintage in 1976. A Fav of mine with a steak, and the ‘16 is Wow big! Blend of mostly Cab Sauv with Merlot, Petit Verdot & Malbec. Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruit & pepper spice. On the palate flavors of ripe cherry, blackberry and fig with oak, sweet spice, leather & cacao notes. Rich tannins, well balanced and integrated with fruit & oak. Very Nice!

Trying the 16 vintage and finding as compelling as the ‘15. On the lighter side for cabernet, well balanced and delicious.

NOSE: black cherry, cassis, pepper(s) (both black pepper and the vegetable kind), a tiny bit of oak, but no vanilla.
TASTE: as the nose, plus very slight flowers and CLEAR PINE - the green pepper is more prominent and the oak is charred (still no vanilla, which is good). This will go great with the Wyoming steak I am about to eat. Bone dry. 91…plus.

Medium to full bodied but real smooth with almost no trace of tannins.. classic Californian cab sauv characteristics. Opens up to ripe blackcurrant, vanilla and some tinge of spice. Slightly acidic.
