Always enjoy having this wine. It has never ceased to impress. Todays wine was the 2018 Marchesi Antinori Tignanello. This is a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc.
The nose has notes of black cherry, plum, blackberry, licorice, herbs, violets, leather and brick dust.
On the palate gave me cherry, plum, blackberry, red currant, hint of vanilla, spices, black pepper, cedar and earth.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a smooth velvety mouthfeel on entry, medium to medium + acidity and medium + fine elegant grippy tannins that has a long red and blie fruit dusty finish. 2018 vintage. Needs a 7-10 split of years to lose the baby fat and precocious ways. Undeniably delicious now and don’t see this shutting down in a noticeable way over that decade. 4.8.23.

Superb wine with black cherry, oak, forest floor, licorice, raspberry, tobacco, and spice notes. Tannins are just right and has a nice long finish.

Bright cherry flavors, incredible balance, super long lasting, wonderful harmonious finish. Best i have ever like a Sangiovese dominant wine. What a special treat.
