Village Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Matthiasson is so generous— seems like at each tier of their family’s releases everything should cost twice as much. Perfect pop and pour Cabernet and that’s a damn hard thing to find it seems. Sweet blackberry aromas laced through tangier just-ripe red and black fruit, spicy red pyrazines, lip-smacking acid. $30.

Great balance on this entry level from Matthiason. Features the green notes of Cabernet with restrained fruit concentration, ample acidity, and oak spice. Would be great with sirloin or roast beef.

Ripping acids, bright fruit. Perfect weekday wine

Nariz: arandano, mora, cassis, pimiento verde, cacao

Boca: Tanino M+, Acidez M/M+, Alcohol M

Nuanced aromas, rare for Napa, and good fruit concentration and tannic substance. Great balance throughout.

This bottle was paired throughout a 3+ hour sushi dinner and it performed admirably, exhibiting an uncharacteristically Burgundian profile not commonly found in Napa Cab. The acidity complimented the fresh fish and bright red fruits intermingled with baking spices offered a lovely depth that kept our palates engaged through a multi-course dinner.
