Blend of 98% Cab Sauv & 2% Merlot, blended then aged for 24 months in 50% new & 50% once-used American oak. Deep Ruby color with aromas of black fruit, licorice & minty floral notes. Palate displays rich ripe blackberry & black cherry, hint of sweetness, vivid acidity & the right touch of toasty vanilla oak, still youthful in development. The wine has nicely integrated tannins, still holds some grip on a long finish which should give way to let this wine age for the next decade+. Excellent.

Great to see the 2012 come around to its bouquet. Soft strawberry mid palate a bit short. tannins holding together and fine grained. Some years yet before this shows it’s full depth.

It’s been years since I had Silver Oak anything. This was pretty darned good. Will last for a long time...probably not going to get better though.

Dark fruit with spice and licorice It's almost Christmas time, kids are all home and rib eyes are in the grill. I feel I'm the luckiest guy around, life is good!
