Lovely and my new benchmark for Spatburgunder, as it drinks like a young 1er Cru nuits. A little edgy and closed down, but an inviting nose of cedar resin, black tea and ripe cherry. A hard palate with masculine tannins and a medium length finish but somehow remains lithe. Would bet this will open up in a few years.

Another stellar offering from Ziereisen (decorative iron). More fruit driven and lighter then the Jaspis. Dark in the glass elderberry and tealeaves this seems to be the trademark taste of his vines). Slightly bitter which I love. May be a tad to mellow unique flavor profile.

Rated with Cohen in another review, but named incorrectly as Tschuppen. Delish, subtle drink after 40 min decant

Burgundian on the nose. As if you know that you’re about to taste something special. On the palate freshness. Sour cherries at first with some lingering umami. At 11 years old this is in its prime drinking window.

This German Pinot tastes like an Oregon Pinot Noir. It reminds me of Beaux Freres. Excellent American-style Pinot Noir with lots of rich cherry fruit while being smooth and elegant. A really enjoyable fruit-forward wine that is just the right age to drink.

Smokey nose. Klassik Baden. Dark berries. Blueberries. This wine could use a couple of years. I prefer a different style of Pinot. I have a hard time with his Pinot’s. 13 was a really difficult year. Fass Selections.

Fantastic wine. Really well made. Needs a 30 minute decant. Some pine. Great fresh fruit. Ziereisen rocks.
