Château Beychevelle

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

#AgedWineTuesday

Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.

Full-bodied and bold, with medium acidity and a hint of must on the nose.

Dry on the palate with black fruits, cedar, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn, pencil lead, dark coffee, black tea and forest floor.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 19 year old still has a lot of power. Nicely balanced and complex. A beautiful Bordeaux from the great 2005 vintage.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and show the tannins.

Good by itself as a sipping wine.

A blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot.

Cooper Garrod

Test Pilot P-47 Thunderbolt Red Blend 2016

Nose: Leather, black licorice turning to green pepper notes.
A bit hot, it relaxes a bit with a decant. Short finish, the taste doesn't offer the depth and complexity that is suggested through the nose.

47% Cab Sav, 37% Malbec and the rest is Petite Verdot and Merlot. Always one of my go to wines and this vintage is surely not disappointing. — 4 years ago

This 8 year old GSM blend from Israel is drinking beautifully now. Elegant and fruit forward. Feels like a Washington State red blend. Easy drinking and engaging.

Needs an hour to open up properly, so be patient.

Peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next few years.

Delicious by itself as a sipping wine, and good with food too.

This 5 year old is drinking very nicely now, and better than last year. Still young and needs 3 more years in the bottle to mature properly.

I paired it with baked Brie cheese and crackers.

Château Feytit Clinet

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend

What a pleasure to share with dinner @ Rocca in Burlingame. Solid cork after 47 years. Very balanced with mature fruit that did not show its age. The Merlot provided wonderful flavors of light berry compote and a deft touch of oak. Classic Bordeaux in every way. 👍👍🍷🍷 — 2 years ago
