Love non-ipas. Think this saison needs a little more farmhouse funk. Different yeast maybe. — 3 years ago

Drinking this Northern Italian wine, family produced at the foot of the Alps for 7-generations one can almost imagine pulling over in your Alfa Romeo to have a light lunch and taste the local wines. Smooth, rich, even elegant this full-bodied red will be the perfect accompaniment. Another under the radar find at Metrovino, Calgary. DOC, 13% alc/vol ~$21.00 CAD Cheers 🍷 — 8 years ago

Argentine high altitude (6561 ft) wine. 90% stainless steel, 10% sent 14 months in French Oak. Beautiful wine! — 2 years ago
Lees and acidity. That is the crux of it. Creates some fascinating flavor profiles- like nibbling on a Dogwood branch after it lost its leaves in the fall. Very interesting wine that is begging to be laid down in a cellar and only brought out in the next decade- it's a bit heavy handed now with the yeast and acid but has massive aging potential that I think will reveal some fascinating flavors. — 4 years ago

Medium plus in finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a very enjoyable Rhone blend from Russian River Valley in California. Spicy and fruity with lots of earth notes that makes it interesting.
Nicely balanced with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel. Feels like a blend of Old and New World wine, which is always engaging and pleasant to drink.
Drinking very nicely now, as a five-year-old, and will age nicely in the next 5 years. I really enjoyed the tangy ending.
Good by itself or with food, and needs an hour to open up properly.
After 2 hours of airtime, the nose really opened up and it was so nice to smell on it for a while.
A blend of 58% Grenache 22% Mourvedre, 18% Syrah and 2% Petite Sirah. A small production of only 315 cases produced.
I paired it with Brie cheese and roasted almonds.

Weighty wights headlessly puff hoar-breath sketches of new geographies into ruddy, amber oceans swirling. Hearty bread and malt-caramel nose, with a beurre blanc note. Orange and lemon lift this bread-y loaf with effort, but it tumbles back to grain flour and iced coffee couched in a spongey honey roll, this is the crux of its push and pull perpetuity.
