Camping in Anza Borrego. 93F in mid April. But at night really pleasant. And if you go camping you need a wine which can take a beating in the desert and still tastes awesome. Stored on ice and then tasted with Rib-eye steak from the grill. Lilac, quite tannic, leather, cherry - of course it is blasphemy to open this so soon should have bought more!!!!! — 8 months ago
Nose is plum and plum flower. Spice. Clove Lovely.
Palate is such juicy succulent fruit. Plum and cherry. Lovely spice. Elite quazzolo deliciousness. Grippy tannins.
Much more on the elegant side than the 16 which was a force of nature.

Nose is relatively mute initially. But then each aroma reveals itself. Beautiful cherry, like stunning and detailed cherry like you will not believe. Holy shit. Sawdust. Like wood shop, end of class, 8th grade sawdust. So pure. Spice. Some roses. Heavenly nose. Palate is exquisite. Amazing ripe tannins intermingled with dynamic fresh and super deep cherry fruit. Palate is elegant. No hard edges. Superb power and concentration. Dense yet lithe. Superb sap and length. Amazing build on the finish. One of those finishes when you think it ends it really is just beginning. Wow. After like 15 minutes this nose goes into overdrive. Just an insane perfume that leaps out of the glass. — 5 years ago

Last had 2+ years ago and this is honestly drinking pretty similarly. Very nice bright cherry. Wonderful acid and earth and tannin balance. Could use a few more years for the tannins to integrate a bit more, but quite delicious. Excellent pairing with a roast chicken and mushrooms cooked in the chicken fat. Opened 5 hours prior and decanted for 1 - could have used more. — 4 months ago
