Delectable this is the Block 9 Shiraz, not offered in your Database. Typical peppery Mount Barker Shiraz. Dense Ruby with a crimson rim. A note of cigarette fine cut rolling tobacco and blue fruits. A medium bodied palate with spice and pepper. Savoury with medium minus fruit influence. Good length and M+ persistence. Visited the district and this winery about 4 years ago in 2019. I have always loved this style of Shiraz. Gold medal and Trophy Best WA Red at 2018 Perth Royal Wine Show. — a year ago

Chilled red - Powell’s Leederville — 9 months ago
A label new to me I bought at a Downs Club tasting. A little funk on the nose with almonds and under ripe stone fruit. Impressive if not a little light on the palate with the nose carrying through on to the palate. On the 2nd day this had filled out finishing with a saline minerality. Medium plus intensity and length. Proves once again that the Adelaide Hills is an exceptional area for Chardonnay - think Shaw and Smith M3 Chardonnay. — 2 years ago

A sappy red fruited slightly savoury perfume…stewed fruits. Reminds me of those Western Australia Pinot characteristics. I used to buy Moss Wood Pinot where the fruit came from Pemberton if I recall correctly. This WA Pinot from Mount Barker, we bought at the winery a few years ago reminds me of the old Moss Wood Pinots. I don’t think this is a cellaring proposition but it is tasting great at 6 years old. On the 2nd night a whiff of honeycomb from the oak. — 8 months ago
