Day 24 of the 2022 Whisky Advent Calendar. Very smoky at first but with a caramel depth coming through. Intensely peaty with a cocoa and mint layer under it and lots of spices. Toasty nutty finish. — 2 years ago

Wow….let’s talk about acidity.
Crisp, vibrant and mouth watering.
Fresh squeezed lemon, herbs and camomile tea on the nose.
Flavours of lemon verbena, white grapefruit and fresh cut grass. Smooth and clean finish.
I made Basa fillets with a Putanesca sauce.

My curiosity got this best of me on this. Nice nose right off the jump and only needed about 30 minutes of air to open up. Red fruit dominant and a bit thin on the finish at this stage. A nice bottle, but a couple notches below the Lore and Lamb, and I prefer the Panek as well. — 4 years ago
Gorgeous, medium-bodied Zinfandel from some of the most remote vineyards in all of Napa, gown organically on Mt. Veeder’s volcanic soils, at 2,100 ft. altitude, and made by California cult producer Lore Olds - Bob Travers’ assistant winemaker at Mayacamas back in the 1970s. Earthy, mineral and balanced.
