Monte da Ravasqueira

Vinha das Romãs Alentejano Syrah Blend 2021

This wine is an example that price has nothing to do with quality. Lots of fruity sweetness balanced with acidity, and with vanilla and tobacco. — 3 years ago

Wallufer Walkenberg Spätlese Riesling 2021

A mammoth, chiseled beast of a wine that really needs extensive decanting and/or aging. Despite a modest decant, imagine am tasting a tease of its true potential. — 6 months ago

Texas Malbec 2020

Here’s a curveball. It opens up to soaked wet corn notes and evolves to plush red fruit on the palate; good backbone, firm tannins, full bodied, high alcohol, big, bold and yes, (Malbec) is bigger (when made) in Texas. — a year ago

Becker Family Pinot Blanc 2020

A great refreshing light white wine. Citrus and curd flavor with razor sharp nose. The acidity on the back end lasts a long time. — 2 years ago

Quinta das Carvalhas

Douro Red Blend 2015

Just opened and poured and tasted, the bouquet was strong dark fruit with floral notes. Still a dark red with no visible signs of being 10 years old. Full mouth, delicious, really impressive again! — 6 months ago

Royal Oporto (Real Companhia Velha)

Quintas das Carvalhas Reserva Douro 2018

60% Touriga Nacional
20% Touriga Franca
20% Tinta Roriz

Dark purple color, with a lot of earthy components. Floral notes with a wooden accents, vanilla, and dark ripened fruit. All with a bit of leather. Nicely balanced with just a medium tannin structure. A lot softer than the flavors and scents give off. I think it’s delicious, and the 2018 is drinking quite primely right now.

Pazo das Bruxas Rías Baixas Albariño 2021

Bright lemon color with stone and tropical fruit aromas and adding floral citrus scents. On the palate flavors of pear, apples and peaches with lime zest and hints of chalky salinity. Well balanced with pleasant lively acidity, long finish ending with mineral, citrus and wet stone nuances. Very nice value. — 3 years ago
