Martin found this for sale (can you believe it?) in, of all places, Beaver Liquors in Beaver Creek, CO. This baby is pure velvet. You could print a velvet Elvis canvas out of this stuff! Strong, bold attack, midpalatte, and finish. Classic Central California gold! I've been waiting for over 10 years for my allocation, and it's worth 10 more to get SQN juice on a regular basis. — 9 years ago

Black cherry, cassis, bramble fruit, blueberry, violets, lavender, black pepper, some stemmy/tarragon/tomato leaf/underbrush. You don’t find too many natural winemakers taking on bold reds like Petite Sirah, but I’m glad Beaver Creek does and has no qualms about going up to 14+% alc. The wine feels a little thin on the palate for a California Petite, but really over delivers on the range, intensity and precision of favors, especially for the <$20 price—and it’s from a biodynamically farmed single-vineyard (Horne Ranch, which seems like a pretty majestic place from the photos I’ve seen) to boot! Great with bacon-eggplant-cheese burger. — 5 years ago
We had this when we first arrived in beaver creek for our annual ski trip. Lovely, light. Ready for the seafood we’re about to have with it. — 6 years ago

Mushroom and roots of river scrub poking out from muddy banks while skewering the corner-baked brownie with a thin, nearly burnt, crispy collar. A papyrus envelope lies open, filled with sandalwood soaked clay, and a blackberry, blueberry, gooseberry reduction with cassis just to tease. Lean mouthfeel that turns sharply mid-palate to a gravelly mineshaft of nutmeg, black sesame, burnt brownie bits, and soft cranberry jellies wraps up herbaceously with cedar chips, Provençal herbs, hazelnut, Brazil nut skin, hot saw blades salivating old cherrywood and belching pipe tobacco. Kept me nose deep in the funk. Brilliant wine with a surly personality. #LaFleurdeBoüard #Pomerol #rightbank #frenchred #lalande #lalandelicious #rivermonster — 9 years ago
