Rattlesnake Rock Syrah 2018

Garagiste mystery. Really happy about this one. Rhys, pax, Arnot roberts, and Jolie laide style. Olives, dark fruits, stewed tomato, rosemary. So freaking perfect with steak. Brightness of fruit and acidity seemed to improve with a few hours of air. Maybe blew off some reduction or funk? Love it. — 15 days ago

Caymus Vineyards

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Drinking a 3L from 2013 in late ‘24. Love the big format bottles and aging potential. This could go a lot longer I think but is also fine to drink now.

Standard Caymus flavors and aromas that made the brand known. Dark inky crimson color. Blueberries and blackberry fruit mixed with vanilla alongside the tell-tale signs of wet band-aid. Great tannins, medium-to-big acidity, good long finish. Really nice.

Harlan Estate

Napa Valley Proprietary Red Blend 1997

Liquorice, graphite over black and dark blue fruit. Fresh and powerful. Big but at the same time lithe and restrained in delivering layers of secondary flavours - asian spice and dried earth. Phenomenal. — 3 months ago

Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2023

2023 vintage. Maan, do I feel old reviewing this! Sourced from some eminently notable vineyards. Wine rolls up and down and back up again throughout the palate...almost as if you are tasting each vineyard source as stages vs a blend. Def interesting. Light-medium body. May hafta pick this up as a list placement as it is drinking nicely. Absolutely blowing through Oregon pinot tho. Resto pricing at $19 btg (waay too low) and woulda jumped on it but have another CA pinot currently btg that's an even better deal. 11.27.24. — 4 months ago

The Boxer Shiraz

One of the faves for Shiraz. Big, bold, yet easy to drink. Punchy with black and red fruits, not to tannic. — 3 months ago
