Was highly skeptical of trying a cheap Texas wine, but was pleasantly surprised. Albariño is one of my favorite white grape varietals, and after learning that Spanish and Portuguese grapes do particularly well in the Texas climate thought I’d give it a shot. @Shay A I’ve seen your post about Ron Yates, really want to give his wines a try. Met some guys at an Austrian/German wine shop in Fredericksburg, and they gave me a list of smaller wineries that they say are worth checking out next time I’m down there. Had no idea that a majority of grapes are grown out towards Lubbock. Cheers

@Arden Barnett : My wife and I did a visit down there last spring and found some neat wineries. Kuhlman Cellars and Calais Winery were standouts. Happy to share some bottles if/when we meet up. You should come to Classic Wine Storage one day when we have a group up there...it’s quite the event.

@Shay A both of those are on my list! I believe Jack and Ben talked a few weeks ago about getting a wine dinner going later this month. I will talk to Jack and we will try and get something setup soon. Y’alls get togethers at Classic Wine always look amazing.
