Bodegas Olarra

Cerro Añon Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2018

Tempranillo tasting! Aromas of red cherry and barnyard funk. Notes of petrol, wet leaves, red cherry, and leather. Medium bodied with chalky tannins (on cheeks) with a medium finish. After opening up, the funk and petrol lessened greatly. — 10 months ago

Favia

Cerro Sur Napa Valley Red Blend 2014

Lovely floral nose. Fresh black and blue fruit, semi sweet chocolate, great minerality, very nicely integrated plush tannins. Great mouthfeel and long finish. — 3 months ago

Casa Ferreirinha (Sogrape Vinhos)

Barca Velha Douro Red Blend 2011

Another beauty. 45% Touriga Franca, 35% Touriga Nacional, the rest is Tinto Roriz and Tinto Cao. Powerful rich and delicious, but it seemed a bit lighter than the Unico and a lot lighter than the Pingus. Decanted 5 hours before serving. Some of the big guns from the Iberian Peninsula! — 5 months ago
