Smokey on the nose and all over, charred meat and blackberry compote, but all fully resolved. We quietly sucked down 2 bottles over dessert and cheese but hell if this wasn’t the best match for fleur-de-sel laced dark chocolate I ever had. Fully resolved, delicious and unlikely to get better. — 6 years ago
A powerhouse combination of pear, fleur de sel, lees, grated spices and a “cold steel” quality that seems to be the annual signature of this cuvée. Bone dry and surgically clean; no petrol...just pure, incisive transparency. One of the greatest entry-level Alsace Rieslings you can imagine. I’ve probably underrated this, if anything. — 7 years ago
Come fine serata, per gli amanti sel dolce, è stupendo!
Con i soliti cantucci o una crostata lascia una nota meravigliosa in bocca.
Io lo proverei anche (in stagione ovviamente) con ciliegie nelle marure! 🍒😊 — 8 years ago

Not your average summer water- this is a Rosé with some grip and complexity. A subtle nose of strawberry, watermelon, and stone fruit, which carry over to the palate, along with watermelon rind, blood orange rind, fleur de sel, and slate. Begging for food. — 9 years ago

So easy to write off this formidable, yet tender giant because it needs at least three days’ aeration when young. And this one didn’t hit its stride until day 6, now exhibiting lemon zest, citrus oil, fleur de sel, subtle and persistent Alpine minerals and a palpable, electric energy. For me, this is the greatest Sylvaner in the world, along with Keller’s Feuervogel. — 7 years ago
The nose is ocean air, fleur du sel, and granite dust. On first pour, starts out with some savory roasted parsnip and turnip. Builds weight with air time; lemon curd, citrus zest, and Costa Rican “Cas” fruit (which is a hybrid green guava, pear, and citrus). Finishes with more cracked granite. Love it! — 7 years ago

Grand Vin ! — 9 years ago
Sublime sophistication, Raveneau's 2011 Chablis Premier Cru Montée de Tonnerre shows its pedigree with complex aromas of roasted pear, earth, hazelnut, iodine, and smoke. The influence of Kimmeridgian soils is evident on the palate, one that is both expansive and neatly tailored, swathed in stone fruit and lemon curd tightly bound by a mineral spine. The finish is intense, meandering and tipped in fleur de sel and dried herbs, especially tarragon. — 9 years ago
Paired with home made Focaccia with homegrown garden Cherry yellow and red tomatoes. Superb 2016 Clos from Droin that seems to he coming together now after my first bottles that were not up to the standard of that good domaine. Lemon curd, sea salt, some white orchard fruit, great minerality and salinity coupled with depth, richness, and this nice tension, making it balanced, vibrant with a savoury lengthy finish. 92-93
92-93 — 6 years ago
Longueur excellente. — 7 years ago
2017. Fleur de sel, sea spray. Almost unctuous, which is always the tell on this wine. Attractive green olive/dirty martini quality. Such an underrated grower. #brunori #verdicchiodeicastellidijesi — 7 years ago
Such pleasure and a unique experience! Such a beautiful and complex wine! Orange peel, caramel, fleur de sel, cooked figs and cooked cherries sauce. Very soft mouthfeel and an impressive freshness. An absolute great wine.
Did you know they used about 3% of viura in the blend at the time ? 😉 — 8 years ago

Amazing freshness with the 20+ age, spicy nose, pure minerality.
Hints of beeswax, shy quince, salty rocks, the purity here is just insane.
On the palate this hits with brilliant acidity (not far from Fino!), paired with spicy minerality and barely a hint of apples sprinkled with fleur de sel. Great depth and amazing electric tension.
This is brilliant! I am blown away. Wowza! — 7 months ago
