Calistoga Cellars

Diamond Creek Vineyards

Volcanic Hill Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1991

From 375 ml bottle...good things can come in small packages.

Double decant and pour. A still dark purplish garnet color with some bricking(decent chunky/fine sediment). On the nose: subtle brooding notes of dark fruit, currants, wet forest floor, worn leather, smokey grilled meat. Taste: creamy, elegant, balanced, savory wine with some dark cherry, earth, dark chocolate, cedar, tobacco, and a cocoa dried herb medium plus finish. YUM!

Méthode Champenoise Brut Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay 2020

Yeah it’s just so damn layered and delicious, big punch of acidity but that extroverted fruit and I assume decent dosage to round things out - makes it a pairing ace. It is so enjoyable even as it completely loses all bubbles and comes to room temp in the glass, which is the mark of a great 🍾 IMHO. Paired well with pan seared Barramundi and Caesar salad #schramsberg #blancdeblancs — 3 months ago

Chateau Montelena

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Elegant from the start. Plums, currants and dark cherries tempered by smoke. This is followed by dates and fig, touch of licorice. Medium tannins carry the finish with almost no acidity. — 2 months ago

Presents treacle, coffee grinds and cedar on the nose. Oddly enough, there’s a hint of grapefruit on the mid palate. It’s not a distraction, but quite uncommon. Moderate density supports maraschino cherries and ripe tannins. Great overall structure suggests that this will sail on for a few more years, but it’s peaking now. — 5 months ago
